Socket Internet Services launches in Columbia

February 1995 - A new player has entered the rapidly expanding field of Internet Service Providers in Columbia, Missouri. Founded by George Pfenenger and co-owner John Dupuy, Socket Internet Services Corporation is online and providing Internet Access and e-mail to over 50 computer owners.

Socket plans to provide Internet connectivity to businesses and consumers wishing to enter the information age. The line of services include Internet connectivity via dial-up, ISDN, dedicated modems, or T-1, web hosting, email and access to Usenet news discussion groups.
