There are currently several viruses circulating through the Internet that might affect your computer. This problem is NOT with your Socket service, and is rather something that can affect your Internet connection in general.
As a courtesy to our Socket customers, we have provided some suggestions for avoiding and removing these viruses. Please read through all of the information before acting on any of it.
IMPORTANT: Virus Removal Instructions
Step-by-step instructions are contained in the link.
If your service has been disconnected due to a virus, please follow these instructions entirely to prevent your services from being further interrupted:
1. Download and run Network Associates Stinger anti-virus tool found at http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger.
2. Download and install any Windows updates found at http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com.
3. Rerun the Network Associates Stinger anti-virus tool from Step 1. If Stinger does not detect a virus, visit http://housecall.antivirus.com to double check for viruses by completing the free online virus scan.
4. It is recommended that all customers install some form of permanent anti-virus software and keep it updated using the manufacturer's included tools. Learn more about Trend Micro Internet Security, supported by Socket.
